Description

Built from scratch, the 2024 ONX Vapid Sandstorm D205 is a police utility for departments using LSPD, LSSD or SAHP liveries. Tidemo created the model with contributions from WiseGuy and JunkyWRX. The lore-friendly interceptor combines an AWD Vapid wheel setup with non-ELS lighting and 200+ tuning choices.

Its configurations range from marked patrol to slicktop and undercover work. A K9 cruiser, SWAT response unit, sheriff vehicle or state-patrol setup can all be assembled from the same model. Equipment changes use native mod categories and extras, keeping the configuration within a normal vehicle customisation menu.

Paint, livery and identification

The Sandstorm supplies LSPD graphics for city policing, LSSD graphics for county work and SAHP graphics for state patrol. Templates are included for creating department-specific liveries. The existing finishes also coordinate with the ONX EUP Clothing Pack.

Body paint can be single-colour or two-tone. That choice is independent of the livery, allowing the vehicle’s paint arrangement and department artwork to be selected separately. The callsign system accepts an editable 5-digit identifier and lets the digits change colour.

There are 16 unit tags with colourable and red-reflective variants. The available roles include Supervisor, Command and Warden, together with Paramedic, SWAT and Gang Unit. K9 and Caution K9 labels cover dog units. These identifiers sit alongside the callsign rather than requiring a separate vehicle resource.

Roles supported by the base model

  • LEO and EMS configurations
  • DOC and Federal configurations
  • Unmarked and Decommissioned configurations

The same Sandstorm spawn supports these roles. Selecting equipment, paint, livery and unit tags changes its presentation in game. That approach also covers the marked, slicktop and undercover alternatives without streaming duplicate versions of the model.

Exterior emergency equipment

Synchronised non-ELS patterns provide the emergency lighting. Players do not need a client ELS installation. The lightbar selection includes ALPR attachments, with slicktop and undercover choices available through the vehicle’s configuration.

Jurisdictional ram bars and manually controlled spotlights complete the external patrol fittings. Antennas cover regular, specialist and tactical arrangements. Their wobble variants are available for city, county and state presentations.

The custom wheels follow the AWD Vapid specification. Dirt and crash mapping use a Rockstar-style treatment, and the handling blends realistic roleplay behaviour with arcade balance. These are supplied model characteristics alongside the configurable equipment.

Cabin equipment and rear compartment

The interior selection provides 50+ loadouts for consoles, radios, siren controllers and laptops. Dash radar is included. Gun-rack positions extend across the divider, roof and trunk, giving departments a choice of where that equipment appears.

For K9-ready use, the rear area offers split K9/suspect seating or a full K9 layout. Primary and secondary paint settings colour the split arrangement. Window bars and dividers accompany those options.

The trunk can present an organised or messy equipment layout. Animated lockboxes and drawers form part of the storage equipment. These choices remain adjustable on the base vehicle, just like the radio and console arrangements at the front.

Shared equipment library

Lightbars, antennas, cages, consoles and tags match the ONX EVP and Gabz fleet through a universal parts library. A department using the Sandstorm alongside other ONX vehicles can therefore choose fittings from the same visual family.

The native extras and mod categories are labelled for in-game adjustment. No special menu script is needed to access the 200+ options. The existing vehicle menu can configure the livery, ALPR attachments, lightbar, cage, console, antenna, storage layout and tags.

That division between the base model and its selected equipment is central to the package. The scratch-built utility remains the same vehicle while the visible department role, working cabin and rear-compartment setup change around it.

Technical specification

Full LOD stages, compressed textures and tuned polygon counts are supplied. Liveries use 2K textures. The limits are YTD ≤ 1024 and embedded liveries ≤ 2048; exact dimensions, texture quantities and mesh counts follow.

Spawn identifier

  • Vapid Sandstorm D205 Police Interceptor Utility: onx_polsand

Use this model name for the supplied departments and service-role configurations. Their differences are set through the vehicle menu after spawning, with liveries and extras providing the visible changes.

Resource installation

The Sandstorm uses an add-on resource structure with a normal start order. QBCore, ESX and Qbox are among the supported common frameworks. Place its ONX resources in a directory named [onx_vehicles] inside the server resources folder.

Start the group by adding ensure [onx_vehicles] to server.cfg. The in-game customisation menu then handles equipment and department configuration. Labelled categories expose the supported options rather than requiring an additional proprietary interface.

ALPR and lightbar build requirement

Game Build 3095 is needed for the custom ALPR and lightbar options. They use VMT_LIGHTBAR, the category introduced in that build. Add it to the customisation menu to make those attachments accessible.

An earlier build can still run the core vehicle. The limitation concerns that custom lighting and ALPR attachment category. Departments needing the complete selection should use build 3095 with the category available in their menu.

Documentation and permitted use

Installation guides and livery templates are included, with full documentation and support. The templates provide the basis for custom department artwork while two-tone paint remains a separate configuration layer.

Reuploads, resale and redistribution are prohibited. Rebranding is allowed only for liveries and textures.

For a marked patrol configuration, the supplied department livery, editable callsign and unit tag establish the vehicle’s identity. The console, rear seating and trunk choices establish the working loadout. These are independently selected parts of the same Sandstorm configuration, so a department can retain its graphics while changing equipment for a different assignment.

The model includes the full rear equipment choice: a split dog-and-suspect arrangement, a dedicated K9 layout, window bars and dividers. Primary and secondary paint settings apply to the paintable split seating.
