Description
Vapid Sandking Ambulance is a lore-friendly Type 1 emergency vehicle for EMS and fire-medic departments. The scratch-built 2016 Sandking has 7 seats and a rear compartment that players can walk through during treatment scenes. Its synchronised non-ELS lighting and shared ONX equipment place it within the same responder family as the wider EVP fleet.
Tidemo engineered the model, with WiseGuy, Dayashii, Momo, CanisterDog and JunkyWRX contributing. The body, decals and lightbar mountings were created for the build. It is a custom Vapid ambulance designed around GTA V lore, with its own model rather than a vanilla ambulance edit.
Patient compartment and crew equipment
The rear interior is walkable. Players can move around inside the ambulance, making the patient compartment usable for in-vehicle treatment roleplay. The seating capacity is 7, giving the truck crew capacity alongside that accessible rear space. Interior options include a heart monitor and gurney configurations.
The cab equipment can be configured with console, radio, siren-controller and laptop arrangements. These are selected through the vehicle modkit and extras rather than an additional custom interface. The shared equipment system includes interiors and gurneys, alongside the lightbars, consoles and antennas used elsewhere in the ONX responder range.
- Walkable rear treatment area.
- Heart-monitor equipment.
- Gurney choices.
- Console and radio loadouts.
- Laptop and siren-control setups.
- Labelled native extras and mod categories.
Department markings
The pack includes Mission Row SA (MRSA) liveries, together with designs for SA First Responders (SAFR) and LS Fire Department (LSFD). Department and hospital artwork are part of the supplied ambulance presentation. The liveries use 2K resolution and match the ONX EUP Clothing Pack, keeping the crew’s uniform styling aligned with the vehicle.
Identification uses an editable 3-digit callsign. The numbers can be recoloured and appear at several positions around the body. Callsign settings are available through the customisation menu together with the other interior and exterior options. No separate callsign script is needed for this configuration.
Livery templates accompany the vehicle, allowing departments to produce their own artwork. SAFR-style, LSFD-style and MRSA-style designs can be created with those templates. They also provide the layout for a department choosing a different visual identity for its ambulance fleet.
Exterior fittings and lighting
- Bumper alternatives.
- Brushguard choices.
- Selectable antenna layouts.
- Custom wheels matched to the Vapid ambulance.
- Synchronised emergency-light patterns.
- Non-ELS operation without a client ELS dependency.
The light patterns are handled by the supplied non-ELS arrangement. Players do not need to install a client lighting framework to see the ambulance lighting. The setup also avoids creating duplicate vehicle models for the lighting configurations. Bumpers, brushguards and antennas give units physical variation alongside the markings and callsign.
These fittings participate in the universal ONX parts approach. Other standalone ONX vehicles reuse the same common equipment library. This keeps the selection of shared items consistent across the responder fleet while the Sandking retains its own ambulance body and model files.
Model construction and driving
The ambulance includes full LODs, adjusted polygon counts and compressed textures. Surface mapping follows Rockstar styling for both dirt and crash damage. Custom handling balances a realistic roleplay feel with arcade driving, matching the intended emergency-vehicle use rather than introducing a separate racing setup.
The asset budgeting was developed with 64+ slot roleplay servers in mind. The vehicle has its own model files, texture limits and geometry levels for the ambulance body and interior. The shared modification library is separate from the ambulance model and its interior textures.
- YTD texture limit: 1024
- Embedded livery limit: 2048
- Modification parts include L0-L2 levels.
Resource format and compatibility
The Sandking is delivered as an add-on vehicle resource with a standard start order. It is compatible with QBCore, ESX and Qbox, as well as custom frameworks. The supplied resource contains a vehicle asset, without framework-specific scripting. The resource has no logic encryption layer or IP lock attached to a single server boot.
Some features require Game Build 3095. That requirement applies to the affected vehicle features, including the package’s extras, lighting and interior toggles. A compatible game build should be used when installing the ambulance so those features are available alongside the base model.
Installation steps
- Place the ONX vehicle resources under the server resources directory in a group folder named
[onx_vehicles]. - Use
ensure [onx_vehicles]as the group entry inserver.cfg. - Open the vehicle customisation menu to configure artwork, callsigns, antennas, consoles and gurneys.
The menu workflow uses the labelled extras and native modification categories. The callsign, cabin loadout and exterior fittings can therefore be adjusted through the same interface. The package includes installation tutorials and documentation together with the livery templates.
Package scope
- Scratch-built Vapid Sandking Type 1 ambulance.
- Department and hospital livery choices.
- Shared ONX standalone equipment library.
- Artwork templates and setup guides.
The shared library concerns common fittings; the ambulance’s body, interior texture dictionary and main model assets remain identifiable in the file list. This distinction helps separate the vehicle itself from equipment reused elsewhere in the fleet. The supplied detail levels cover the vehicle and modification parts independently.
The release is credited to the ONX Development Team, with showcase screenshots by JsH. Its central EMS features are the walkable treatment space, configurable medical equipment and editable unit identification. Together with the non-ELS lighting, these provide the ambulance configuration for a departmental roster.
