Description

Vapid Scout 1994 supplies a period-styled police SUV with modern native customisation. The ONX Scout Classic is Tidemo’s scratch-built model; WiseGuy and JunkyWRX contributed. Its lore-friendly 1991-1994 body gives a department an early-90s patrol vehicle while providing 200+ equipment options through the modkit and extras.

The model covers marked patrol, undercover and service configurations from the same base. It suits sheriff fleets, highway patrol and period-focused departments in FiveM. Panels, badges and interior details were created for the vehicle, keeping the classic SUV shape alongside the configurable ONX equipment system.

One SUV across service roles

The Scout can be configured for LEO or EMS work, DOC or Federal assignments, and Unmarked or Decommissioned use. These roles are selected through the native categories, so they do not require separate model copies. The base police resource provides the full range of equipment choices.

Lightbars, ALPR rigs, ram bars, antennas, gun racks and trunk fittings can be changed in game. A normal vehicle customisation menu exposes the labelled extras and mod categories. There is no dedicated configurator interface to add before officers can choose their loadout.

Fleet identity

The editable callsign accepts 5-digit identifiers and can be recoloured. Paint supports a single colour or two-tone arrangement, and that choice remains separate from the livery. Department artwork is included for LSPD, LSSD and SAHP, with 2K liveries matching the ONX EUP Clothing Pack.

There are 16 unit tags. The available markings cover SWAT and Gang Unit duties, Command or Supervisor assignments, Warden and Paramedic roles, plus K9 and Caution K9. Tags offer colour-adjustable and red reflective variants, adding assignment markings alongside the individual callsign.

Livery templates are included for departments creating their own artwork. The independent paint system allows the same design to be used with single-tone or two-tone colour arrangements. Installation guides accompany the templates and vehicle documentation.

Exterior equipment

  • ALPR attachments for the lightbar setup.
  • Slicktop and undercover configurations.
  • Ram bars appropriate to the jurisdiction.
  • Player-operated spotlights.
  • Custom wheels for the AWD Vapid platform.
  • Regular and specialist antenna layouts.
  • Tactical wobble antennas.
  • City, county and state antenna styles.

The equipment follows the universal ONX EVP/Gabz parts family. Lightbars, antennas, consoles, cages and tags share their scale and finish with other ONX vehicles. This lets the classic Scout join a mixed fleet of cars, SUVs and trucks using the same fittings.

Cabin and trunk options

The interior provides 50+ combinations of radios, consoles, siren controls and laptops. Dash radar is included. Gun-rack choices cover the divider, roof and trunk positions, with equipment selection handled in the native vehicle menu.

The trunk selection offers raised boxes and loose clutter alongside animated drawers and lockboxes. Both organised and messy presentations are available. The loadout can therefore show a different equipment arrangement without changing the base SUV or installing a separate model for that trunk.

The cabin and cargo-area selections sit alongside the exterior choices. A supervisor unit can carry its tag and chosen console layout, while an undercover Scout can use the relevant lightbar configuration and an alternative trunk arrangement. All of those changes remain part of the customisation system.

Lighting and model detail

Synced non-ELS patterns provide the emergency lighting. No ELS installation is needed on the client, and lighting variation does not depend on duplicated vehicle models. The vehicle includes full LODs, adjusted polygon counts and compressed texture files.

Surface mapping covers dirt and crash damage in Rockstar’s style. The custom handling is balanced between realistic roleplay driving and arcade behaviour. The YTD texture limit is 1024, while embedded liveries use a limit of 2048. Detailed geometry and resolution figures appear below.

Resource entry

  • 1991-1994 Vapid Scout Classic police base: onx_polscout2.

This single identifier is used for the Scout’s service configurations. The common modification library is shared with other ONX standalone resources, and it has a file footprint separate from the vehicle model. The package also includes livery templates, setup tutorials and documentation.

Frameworks and setup

The vehicle is an add-on resource arranged for drag-and-drop installation with a standard start order. QBCore, Qbox, ESX and standalone frameworks can use it. Customisation remains native to GTA V extras and modkit categories, independent of the server’s economy framework.

  1. Group the ONX resources inside [onx_vehicles] under the server resources directory.
  2. Place ensure [onx_vehicles] in the resource-start list in server.cfg.
  3. Configure equipment, liveries, ALPR, consoles, cages, antennas, trunk items and tags through the in-game vehicle menu.
  4. Expose the menu category VMT_LIGHTBAR for the custom lightbar and ALPR selections.

Game Build 3095 introduced that lightbar category. Some features require the build, specifically the VMT_LIGHTBAR options. The underlying vehicle works on standard builds, but a compatible build is necessary to access those particular customisation choices.

Period styling with shared equipment

The classic Scout body supplies the early-90s vehicle identity, while the universal equipment system determines its assignment. A department can select its paint, livery, callsign and tag, then configure the cabin and exterior for the role. The original body proportions remain consistent across those choices.

The technical reference separates the high-detail model, regular model file and texture dictionary. It also lists the shared parts library, including L0-L2 coverage. This preserves the distinction between the Scout-specific assets and the fittings reused elsewhere in the ONX fleet.

Vapid Scout Classic – onx_polscout2 file sizes:

  • onx_polscout2.ytd: 1.4MB
  • 107 yft mod parts: < 0.5MB

Shared mod parts library:

  • 227 yft mod parts: 35.21MB total
  • Shared mod parts L0: Max 9,451
  • Shared modification coverage: L0-L2

Vapid Scout Classic polycount:

  • L0: 117,847
  • L1: 53,045
  • L2: 21,336

Textures:

  • YTD resolution: Max 1024×1024
  • YTD texture count: 44
  • Embedded-livery ceiling: 2048×2048

The department artwork and uniform alignment concern the vehicle identity, while the interior and trunk choices determine its equipment presentation. A classic marked patrol SUV and an undercover configuration can share the same model files, then differ through lightbar selection, paint, callsign and loadout. This is the purpose of the single-model native customisation arrangement: the supplied Scout body remains constant while the service fittings change around it.
